Re: New Imex Releases.

While looking for new Dragons, I came across the new releases from Imex in one of the hobby shops which I frequent.

The Germans are in grey, hard plastic so should prove easy to paint. Review on Plastic Soldier Review 1.72 ( see previously posted link )

The 'Easy Company' Screaming Eagles are in very dark green hard plastic. They should be easy to paint too.

I wasn't impressed by the set. It looks as if it belongs to the efforts of an earlier era ( circa 1970-80 )

There are 15 poses; 50 figures. Some of the helmets look far too small, making some of the figure's heads look out of scale.

Despite this, there is a good range of poses and weapons, and everyone seems to be animated to a greater or lesser degree. Seven of the figures ( in two poses ) have separate bases with chutes on the ground. These bases are, frankly, not up to standard and should be discarded or recarved to get rid of the offending parachutes which appear to be large enough to accomodate only a small cat!

I won't presage 1.72 Plastic Soldier Review's take on the set. For those of you who paint your own figures to accompany your diecast vehicles and planes, it is well worth painting about 12 of this set ( and perhaps some repeats ) to group round a Sherman or two, or perhaps a Waco Glider ( are there any diecast examples of any assault glider? ).
