I saw the new PR mossie the other day, it looked very nice at first until I checked out the thing in a couple of books and it seems that the squadron lettering on the port side is reversed, i.e. applied as LY o U and should be U o LY. cant find any photos of the port side to confirm, but diagrams of the same aircraft in Osprey 13 and warpaint special of the same subject seem to indicate the lettering is wrong. The camo is an interesting shade, described in reference books as middle sea grey and olive grey for upper surfaces and PR blue underside. |
