I've never cared much for these stands...They seem to overpower the subject, and my eye tends to focus more on the stand itself, rather than the model it's supporting. Too many arms going off in all different directions. Aesthetically (for me anyway) an aircraft model should be supported at one point only, and the stand should "blend in" with the model with a thin, aerodynamic look to it.

I guess my one and only Carousel will just remain firmly grounded for now anyway.

I think I'm with you here, Skunky, but I guess I might try one just to see what the effect is in real life. Sometimes pictures can be misleading.

I do agree with your "aircraft stand philosophy." But when there is no known alternative...
