How deep did you have to drill, and how difficult was it?
I was thinking of trimming down the rubber plug on the stand rather than drilling out the hole on the model. I also thought of cutting one of the long screws that secured the model in the box, making a small hole in the plug of the stand, securing the long screw into the plug with some super glue, and then inserting the screw back into its original threads (for additional support and strength). |
I wasn't to bad..All i did was go as far as i needed to.
Your never going to use that hole anyway unless you sale it down the road.
There are two ways to do it one make your hole the same size as the peg on the stand and not use the black plug. The peg on the stand is a little bigger than the hole in the plane so you will have to drill it no matter which way you go.
I wanted the black plug on mine and as you see it worked out great.
Also i used extra stands i had from my B-25's.
