Made a tour of my usual haunts yesterday in the hope that some of the pending issues would show up early. No luck, except that I found that a newly established Wargammer shop was now open for business located near to the Model shop which I frequent. This makes 4 shops within 2 minutes walk of each other which now sell Dragons.
I looked at the window displays : all elves, fairies, Hobbits and Warhammer stuff! Things were looking grim as I wound my way round the shop. Plenty of WW2 products, but all in 1.100 scale for wargamming.
In a corner, on shelves, were about 30 Dragons of various types. I was in luck.
I rummaged through the boxes. They had a 251 C, GrossDeutschland, Kursk, 1943 type. I only had one, so I grabbed it. They also had a Tiger Early Production type mit Zimmerit, Germany 1945. I had not bought a Tiger for some time, and as I didn't have this one, so I decided to buy it. I liked the camo scheme, and I realised that I had ignored the Tigers for too long because, like everyone else, I was fed up seeing them come out in endless variations, and this had led to a build up of unwarranted prejudice on my part against them.
So I now have about a dozen Tigers, one more won't make any difference!
I was glad to see the 251C as I had only managed to get hold of one of them for myself, having sold on a couple more of this type to friends who were unlucky and had missed the boat. I like this GrossDeutschland type because it has no Reg Markings on the side, and if you ignore the vehicle registration marks, you can put a few of them together and they will not look odd.
Like LegioLXXll, i like it when you can get hold of multiple vehicles to form a group which you can display as a support group.
I think that my next jaunt may be to Edinburgh to see what I can find there. The hunt is part of the fun!
