That's right , Jim.

Woolworths used to have a huge counter where you could buy any Airfix kit, as they appeared. In fact, if Woolworths didn't have the kit or the paint, you'd be hard put to find it until the Model/Hobby shops came along.

You still find great model shops in the cities. The only one left in Glasgow City centre is " Jaimiesons" at Glasgow at Glasgow Cross, the historic centre of Glasgow and where the Market Cross is situated.

J's has friendly staff with an encyclopedic knowledge of aircraft, AFVs, books and what's available. They will spend time advising you, if you have a problem and will fish up stock from the basement if it's not on the shelves. If you arrive on a cold and rainy morning looking bedraggled and a bit the worse for wear, they will offer you a cup of coffee to wake you and warm you.

You can't help but purchase something with service like that!
