Back in 2004 i built this magnificent diorama dsplay in 1:400 scale.
This AIRPORT DIORAMA DISPLAY was designed and built by myself (except for the building) in a magnificent 1:400 scale.
The building, aircraft passage gateways & light poles are from HERPA airport building kits.
The aircraft and ground support vehicles models are the famous DRAGON WINGS 1:400 scale models. The actual size of this diorama was 42" x 30".
As always attention to detail is exceptional. Weathered tarmac, tire marks on the runway, oil stains, natural looking grass and taxi lines are just a few examples of level of details I put into..
At first I had only North American Airlines model planes and I ended up chaning them into European Airlines liveries.
I had a lot of fun building it and it took me approx. 4 months to complete.
I ended up selling this display (incl all planes and vehicles) on Ebay in fall of 2004 at a very big price, but now I kind of regret...
Anyways... I'm planning to build a another one in the near future.
