Re: NFL Wild Card games This weekend

I guess my loyalties are rather uncertain on this one .

I think the last thing Indy wanted to see was Larry Johnson in the first round. These two teams have met twice in playoffs in the last 11 years. In 1996 the Chiefs lost to the Colts 9-7 after a 13-3 season - led by Derrick Thomas and a phenomenal defense - due to a shank by Lin Elliot. It was the worst sports moment of my (and my college buddies) lives and is still seen as a black, black day in Kansas City. Then, in 2004, the once again 13-3 Chiefs met Indy in KC losing a shootout to Peyton and the boys. The Chiefs offense was outstanding but their defense couldn't have stopped my pee wee league team. As a typical deluded sports fan, I am praying for a reversal of roles and a Chiefs victory.

In the other wild card game I'll go with the Seahawks, Eagles and Pats. Barring a miracle by my Chiefs I'll be cheering (along with Eddie) for Marty and the Bolts to win it all. He may not have taken KC to the Super Bowl but it was a great time to be a Chiefs fan when he was at the helm.
