Angry Back to plastic!

Since their King Tiger with porsche Turret, 21st Century Toys returned to the plastic for the manufacture of their tanks!

Dozer Sherman and Firefly confirmed this tendency!

I disapprove completely!

21st temporarily made their "Cold Steel" line with only a few vehicles.. Everything since then has been plastic..

Re: Back to plastic!

Mmmmmmmmm OK, thanx for this precision; it is thus to fear that the series "Cold Steel" is definitively cancelled...

Agreed.....I just came across and purchased the "Cold Steel" Panzer III F DAK; all plastic. Are the offerings in the Motorworks boxes all plastic, too?

Thanks,

dV

I don't remember what the original metal tanks were boxed in.. The "Cold Steel" (actual metal vehicles) were only a short run and not very popular as most collected dust here on local shelves and were eventually clearanced off.. After that, 21st went back to making them all plastic.. I think the reason 21st went back though is that they weren't making any money at that pricepoint by using metal which is getting moere expensive (IIRC Zinc is now 3x more valuable per pound than aluminum)..

BTW, Welcome to this forum dV!!!!

Re: Back to plastic!

I have many "Cold Steel" tanks and all was boxed. My Panzer III is die-cast, too, but all this tanks have many plastic parts _ the M24 Chaffee having even only roughly 20% die-cast. The positive aspect of this, is that they cost only half of the price of a FOV in France.
