P-51B at Wal-Mart

I looked for anything "airplane" in the toy section. I found a 1:48 Ultimate Soldier 21st Century Toys QP*B BEE of Duane Beeson. It's plastic. The markings are nice (good enough?). I put it together (and broke a wheel off. Gorilla Glue is bonding it). So? The plane has a story, the colors of the 4th FG fit into my collection--and it is a nice likeness of a P-51B. I am happy.

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I like both releases from 21st in 1/48 scale.. I hear that the next releases (Bf-109K and P-51B) will be improved over the initial releases..

Very nice series II releases, Harry, thanks for the pics! I might just start a roten of Bf 109s!

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I wonder what markings will be on the next P-51?

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Wal Mart in my area of Maryland does not even have an aircraft in stock.

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

Something I've always wondered: what is that long thing hanging down and forward from the left wing of the 109?

A drop antenna.. Fw-190s and Late model Bf-109s went to this design to have the antenna on the bottom of the aircraft rather then the top..

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

Not a big PTO fan unless it's Navy so I'll pass on the B I think, but the 109 is quite nice and I prefer it to my Armour/Mint birds until I pick them both up.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Ok, that makes sense. I had thought it might be some type of fuel over-fill, drip type thing since it seemed to under the fule tanks.
Thanks for the info!

I am kinda curious why they chose a PTE Mustang when they haven't produced a Zero, unless that is in the works???
