Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I wish that they would make the one from the movie Empire of the Sun.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I am kinda curious why they chose a PTE Mustang when they haven't produced a Zero, unless that is in the works???

It'll be included in the "Dogfight" series....After the P-51 has already been bought!

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I went to my local Wal-Mart last nite and found both the Beeson Mustang and the 109 so I picked them up. They had a couple extra and they are only 9.97 USD, not bad! The Beeson will look nice with my Eagles Shangri-La!!!! Although I wish I could get Harry to paint me a custom of Beeson's so it would match up just right?!?!?!?!

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I'm going on a road trip this weekend and I'll pass by three (count 'em!) Wally Worlds. Hopefully one of them will have the 1/48 P-51B and Me109. I've been wanting these in that scale but since 1/48 is not my main scale for collecting (that's 1/72) I've not pulled the trigger on the diecast. These should fill the bill nicely. Any comments on accuracy and construction?

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

Hi Mig, I think they are pretty good in detail for the money, cockpit is done very nicely and the paint job is very good. The landing gear fits nicely and so do the rest of the pieces, such as the two different drop tanks and the landing gear you need to take extra care as I was pushing a bit too hard and snapped it off at the point where it goes into the underside, but very easily super glueable!!! I would definitely get these especially for how inexpensive they are!!!!!!! If anyone would like to get one I could go get it for them and ship it, which should only be a couple of bucks. Just PM me if you are interested.

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

A drop antenna.. Fw-190s and Late model Bf-109s went to this design to have the antenna on the bottom of the aircraft rather then the top..

Lol - I thought it was a curb feeler.

Has anyone seen the first BF109 or the P-40? I found the P-51B this morning, but it was all by itself on the shelves.

I think you're getting into the 1/32 stuff there... The only two planes that have been released so far in 1/48 are the Mustang and Bf-109.. The next release will be just repaints of each with the 109 being released as a "K" model..

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

I saw on the box that they were doing a P-40 in the same Aleutian markings as the Matchbox plane.

I have both the P-51 B and the 109 and like them both, actually my first 1/48 109!

Re: P-51B at Wal-Mart

Hey Harry, do you know if we'll see the Macchi Veltro and Folgore be done in 1/48th scale? Man, I would kill for those models in 1/48!
