P-51B "Bald Eagle"

Just got this model and it's a real beauty. Price was reasonable - under $20.00 including shipping. I've already done a fairly in-depth review of the 21st Century Beeson's Mustang and there isn't much to add. The model went together well and has great detail. The markings are well done and the details are not over done. I added some customizing details to spuce the model up. This is my fifth 1:48th scale model. Since I'm primarily a 1:72nd scale collector, shouldn't I be an ace or something?

Re: P-51B "Bald Eagle"

I agree- very nice model for the money. I got mine at Toys-R-Us or Walmart. I forget which. But easily under $15 even with tax and gas. I'm tempted to buy all of the 1/48's as they are cheap and decent models. As someone here said they are cheaper and larger Easy Models.

HT, Nice job.. I agree the 21st 1/48 stuff is great for the price and if you can get the Hellcat and Tony, those two are better than average.

Re: P-51B "Bald Eagle"

The 1/48 Bald Eagle has better detail than the 1/32 in my opinion

WM here has reduced the 1/48 21st C to $7. Very limited selection (mostly P40s and Me 109s) but it might be worth a look

Thanks for the tip Harry. Just got back from a shopping trip with the wife. Went to TRU and bought the silver/green Tony. No Hellcats yet but the Tony looks really great.

The Hellcats can only be purchased online at the moment. 2 things I can recommend with the Tony is dipping the canopy in Future makes the canopy very clear and I had to glue the wings to the fuselage using rubber bands to give it the right amount of dihedral.
