Re: Custom Planes

Yes...These look pretty good...They make a few others too but their price are a little high too almost 350.00 for them..
He also has a Fw190A on their site i like but not for 499.00 to pricey for me....One must remember too is that they are custom made and alot of work and labor
go into each model and they turn out excellent too so the cost of one these is probability right.
They have a deal with Military toy shop because that's where you can get them at these prices...He is also a ebay seller too.

Nice looking 163...BUT they didn't paint one in all red. This one (PK+QL) was either a light grey or white.

Re: Custom Planes

The story behind the Red Komet, was that it was painted in that scheme for a demo flight.

That color would make it more visible to the spectators on the ground during its gliding phase.

Re: Custom Planes

I often wonder when I come across these high priced custom made model companies about the size of their customer base. A Dutch company, called Bel-Air Models sells 1:48th scale aircraft models made from perspex, a form of acrylic resin, for $1000-3000, depending on the plane you select. I guess at those prices, they can turn a modest profit with only 200- 300 sales per year. Compared to that, it probably takes many thousands of sales---including multiple buys by the same customers---for a typical online vendor to make money with Corgi, Dragon, Gemini, Hobby Master, etc and their "low priced" product. Yet, quite a few companies seem to be accomplishing this feat, despite all of the gloomy talk regarding the small size of the military diecast collector's market. Perhaps, it's not as small as we think.
