Re: 1:48 Hellcats are here...

Either one of these more historically significant than the other? I don't see any kill marks on them and don't know if those are just generic numbers or they were actually flown by a specific pilot. From the pictures I kinda like the lighter coloring of the "White 2". How about it from you guys that have both, do you prefer one coloring over the other?

I prefer the Catmouth Hellcat because the noseart keeps it from looking "generic".
I haven't taken "White 17" out of the box yet, so I can't comment on its looks, but it does appear to be as good as the other.

Re: 1:48 Hellcats are here...

Just ordered the F6F from Bad Cat, the white 17 version. I normally wouldnt touch 1/48th but hey its a Hellcat and I gotta have it and on top of it the reviews seem to be pretty good. It will look good sitting next to my Vraciu 1/18th F6F but just a little smaller! lol If they sell well maybe 21st will make a 1/32nd F6F?

Just got 2 "white 2 " form 3000toys. This is by far my favorite 1/48 from 21st Century. They are expecting the "white 17" in a month or 2, if I don't find it at retail I will definitely order it also.

Harry can you check, does your White 17 have the -5 front windscreen (no top canopy bracing) or the -3 version? Thanks!

Ara,
Both Hellcats have the same canopy/windscreen which looks like this.

Thanks Harry, I'll keep looking for a -5 windscreen. It's one of the distinguishing features of the F6F-5.

Appreciate you looking!

Do you have to display it with the rockets or do you have the option to leave them off?
