For BBI 1/18 planes, has anyone removed the funky antenna wire?

I asked this question on SSHQ, and no reply so far. That makes me wonder if I'm the only one bothered by the awful-looking antenna wire which otherwise detracts from my BBI P-51.

I have removed mine ...It's just a string..Use a hobby knife to cut it and replace it with what you want....
I did mine with a fine wire.
Remember not all the P-51D's had the wires on them..

Thanks. I didn't know some P-51s didn't have the wire. I was looking at several P-51 photos last night to look at the wire, but didn't see one. I assumed they faded out in the photos.
