Re: New Tool 1/32 P-51D!!!

Now wait a minute...are these photos of the actual 21st Century models or of pre production built models from another manufacturer? Is this an all new tooling as the thread title suggests or just new liveries of the old tooling? And why do the landing gear door covers, oleo struts, and tires look better on "Mrs. Bonnie" compared to "GAS"?

According to 21st, these are paint masters painted on actual production samples.. Sometimes, 21st will use built models for their masters, but the two pics of Bonnie and the RAF Stang are probably early production samples re-used for paint masters. That is why there are slight differences in the landing gear and such..

So the production Bonnie won't look as good as it does in that gorgeous piccy??

I wonder what kit that is?

BTW... fly, Skunky is bashing you over the head. Just in case you haven't noticed... probably for admiting you love that scheme on a Corgi Stang.

Re: New Tool 1/32 P-51D!!!

If what 21stC is saying is true, then that is good news, as it would be a marked improvement. I'm basing my comments on previous photos I've seen such as the example below (thanks Flying Mule). Can anyone who owns BBD say that their copy looks like the one in this photo?

I always thought it was slightly deceptive to show pics of one thing and then deliver something entirely different. If the pic of Miss Bonnie is that of the actual production model, then "hats off" to 21st. Could it be that they're actually getting serious in appealing to model collectors?...If so, they may want to consider dropping the "Toys" from their name...

..but I'm still waiting to see

Angry Re: New Tool 1/32 P-51D!!!

I like the way 21st C. always shows pics of built model kits. ...Hey, that reminds me!....Steve1971, the weekend's over.... where's that piccy you promised?....

Hey skunky I'm still waiting for her to down load the darn pics! It takes her awhile to do things but I promise I will have them up even if I have to download them myself! I would love to do this to her from time to time Also I think the 51' Miss Bonnie looks awsome! But I dont think the landing gear will look like that because they never do on 1/32nd or their 1/18th Mustangs!

Re: New Tool 1/32 P-51D!!!

Nice but I will pass on that one. I dont like the paint scheme. I wish they would have done Glammourus Glenn III or Maj George Preddy's Cripes A Mighty. Those 2 have yet to be done in 1/18th or 1/32nd. I know the Cripes P-51B/C was done but I would love to see Maj Preddy's last P-51D get done. I think the man deserves it in his honor.

Re: New Tool 1/32 P-51D!!!

They are looking good to me. I am not a fan of building a plastic kit, and presenting this as what your finished product will look like, and then delivering something that looks nothing like it. I however do like 21st products.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
