Heavies in Plastic?

In the Corgi forum we have been talking about what their next 1/72 heavy bomber should be. What would you guys think about having 21st or BBI or whoever make them in 1/72 plastic? They would certainly be cheaper, lighter, and look just as good as metal. This would also solve the issue with shipping size as these plastic models are easily assembled. They could then be hung from the ceiling with fishing line instead of the log chain a metal one would require!

Whaddaya think?

Re: Heavies in Plastic?

There is a rumor floating around that we will see a B-17 in 1/32 scale from 21st century, also a P-38 and Mosquito in 1/32.. I don't know how far out these projects are though..

Sounds good to me, warplanecrazy. Also, if I am reading and seeing your avatar correctly, I LOVE it!

Re: Heavies in Plastic?

I agree, especially if they finish the models realistically. Are you listening MRC?

Re: Heavies in Plastic?

I'm not sure because from all of the 21st Century planes that I've bought and seen, a very large majority of them are sloppily assembled and painted. If the quality control was better, then I'd say yes but I hate the thought of going through boxes upon boxes to find a decent one......but I'd still get 'em if 21st Century made them

Re: Heavies in Plastic?

Sure would be cool to see a big B-17.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Heavies in Plastic?

I for one would love to see a B-17G done in 1/32nd scale. BUT! Not done by 21st. Like trex0770 said and thats lately 21st's planes seem to have messy paint scheme apps and they seem to be hap hazardly put together and I dont want to have to go thru a dozen boxes to find a good one. Thats why the Old Crow from 21st is my last one I'm buying of theirs. Now if its being built by Admiral or BBI I wouldnt think twice about buying a B-17. Honestly though I highly doubt we will see a B-17 from any of the big 3. I can hope though.
