The Best 1/18th Aircraft. (So Far).

With all the 1/18th planes that we have gotton I wanted to ask you guys which 1/18th aircraft you think is the best so far on the market. Last night I finished up doing some small detailing on my Hellcat and then I studied all my 1/18th aircraft and heres what I think in my view is the best so far. My vote is the F6F Hellcat. The detail is outstanding as is the paint job which to me is nearly flawless. BBI out did themselves on the cockpit which they got down perfect. The only drawback is the way the wings fold. The wings should slant inward like the 21st Avenger when folded. Another thing is the tires being thin but it has been explained why the tires are made that way several times. Other then that I find nothing wrong with the BBI Hellcat in any shape or form. Until Admiral comes out with the SBD I rank the F6F the best 1/18th aircraft we have on the market so far. It was a tough choice between the Hellcat and the BBI Corsair Marines Dream and the BBI P-51 HHH. Maybe my choice was because the F6F has always been my all time favorite since I was a little kid who know's? But I had to be fair in my personal assesment and my vote went to the "Ace Maker" of the Pacific War. BBI did a tremendous job and the Hellcat is everything I expected it to be from BBI. I look forward to them releasing a Hellcat with the markings of Minisi III on it in the future.

So whats your pick guys? Lets here it and remember be fair in your assesment! LOL

I agree the F6F Hellcat is the best i have seen so far..The tires can be replaced with the TBM Avengers tires....Wing fold is a little off...But that don't bother me because mine is displayed in flying mode...I just love that ole bird. ....But i get a feeling the SBD that Admiral is making is going to be sweet one too.

All BBI's 1/18th efforts are great including their jets. I would say that the P-51 "Killer" is my favorite at the moment.

Of all the P-51's that I wish I had "Killer" is the only one I wish I would have gotton. Why? Because one I like the paint scheme and 2 it represents a Mustang from the 354th FG which were THE top guns of the ETO in the P-51 Mustang. Thats a little known fact which not everyone know's. The 354th were the original Mustang group that originally belonged to the 9th AF but were on loan to the 8th until more Mustang groups arrived.

Re: The Best 1/18th Aircraft. (So Far).

The Hellcat is my favorite WWII followed by the BBi Marines Dream Corsair, Zero, the 21st Century BBD, Cal Cutie P-38 and Avenger. My favorite post WWII is the 21st Century S1 Starfighter followed by the Huff F-86, BBi Hornet and Mig-15.

Heck, it's hard to chose because the shear size of these planes make them all really impressive!

Talking Re: The Best 1/18th Aircraft. (So Far).

I went ahead and added a spare set of Avenger tires to my Hellcat this weekend and all I can say is WOW what a difference! Now besides the wing fold it is the most perfect 1/18th plane I have in my collection. The tires went on smoothly and look really nice and add's more detail to the plane. My Hellcat is now tops in my collection and is currently sitting in its own display case. That says alot because my other planes dont have that honor.

just kidding, I haven't seen any Hellcats at my local Toys 'R Us and they usually get BBI items in right away. I can get you a UPC from the Hellcat I got from BCA if you'd like.
