| The essential 21st Century? Ok, I have been lurking around this corner of the forum for a while and wanting to get myself one of these plastic giants... What do you guys think is the "essential" 1/18? How do they compare to BBI or was it Admiral? I saw a 1/18 F-86 and it had these real seat belts in the cockpit! (it was the 21st Century version right?) What about their 1/32 P-40s? I was looking at the Flying Tigers one with Chinese markings...are they worth 25$? I am stopping over Washington DC for a few days late June and wondering if I should order online (and get it sent to my friends place) or give it a shot at the local Wallmart (is there one?) FYI I am usually stationed in Hong Kong. | |||||||||||||

| Re: The essential 21st Century?
I went and bought the 21st Century F-86 "The Huff" ($40) at Wal*Mart the other day and is indeed have cloth seatbelts, but I'm truly a sucker when it comes to the F-86 at any scale! I've never bought the F-86 from Admiral Toys but I heard it's really very nice and cost a bit more than the 21st a/c.

| Re: The essential 21st Century? I have both of these scales in my game room...I love the 1/18's because of the detail these birds have for their size. The seat belts in the F-86 is a new thing they just started this last year on the planes so i'm hoping they will do it with the other 1/18's as well such as the F4 Phantom that is coming out later this year in 1/18 and 1/32 by 21st Century Toys. There 1/32 line is not bad ...I have a few of there planes..I love the F4U Jolly Roger "Big Hog" Corsair the best. Harry sold me a FW190 and that is one cool looking fighter too. The new P-40 Flying Tiger is cool looking one too..These are alot cheaper if you find them in Wall Mart. But then again i have gone to Wal Mart and found ..Nothing ...Every store seems to stock different items..In a case like that then it be worth to pay a few more bucks to get what your looking for at a on-line store. | Re: The essential 21st Century? Thanks STARMAN 352ND and flyXwire for your imput. I saw the F-86 with those seat belts and it was like "I have to have one!" Only nobody seems to sell them in Hong Kong, so I think I'll go online and get them sent to my friend's place in DC. so I'll go pick it up at the end of june. | |||||||||||||
