Packaging our models

Hi Guys,
Do you ever wonder why comapanies like to make it so hard to get your model out of the box? I have several theories but the one that stands out is. "Loss prevention" In a hobby like ours where assembly is required and one may be too forceful on a tiny part. Who s to say a guy might be tempted to go back to Walmart and sneak that landing gear. In the 1:18th scale it's a nightmare of twisty ties and sometimes screws.
Maybe it is the simple pleasure for me to undo each of them as I can disassemble the model later and re-box it. Shipping is another consideration on this issue. It's all good Alph

Re: Packaging our models

Ive got a FOV 1/32 Spitfire that been sitting in its window box for the best part of a year 'cause I don't think I'll ever get the thing back in.

I guess the toy like marketing of some lines dictates the contents is visible as they compete for buyers on the shelves and so the use of vac-formed clear plastics & abundant coated metal twist ties come into play.

My daughter's Bratz dolls take a good amount of time to 'spring' from their clear plastic cells, the 'Magic Genie Bottle' springs to mind as being particularly challenging

Ha.. ha.. its the only non-canine 1/32 I have. I think the pilot figure & bomb loading gear look ok though
