What got you all started on collecting 1/18th?

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to see how much we all have in common. I began this hobby when my wife got my first F-104 in German naval colors. I like their presence when sitting on a table or hanging from the ceiling. Shelving for these is problematic and table space is already taken so hanging these models is the best we can do. I wonder why anyone would persue collecting 1/18th scale after 3 or 4 models? What are your thoughts?

Beats me! But I live in a 1,670 S.F house

I like the look of them but they are too big for me.

I got into 1/18 when my 1/6 collection got too big, plus the wider variety of vehicles interested me.

1/18 is too big for me I have no space at home as it is. I might just add a couple in the future after moving into a larger home.

Keep'em flying.

Hi All,
For the sake of collecting and the better half does her share too, We both began collecting NASCAR!
Action pretty much dominates the field when you want to stay intouch with your budget. NCCR is another step up then ofcourse Bradford mint though I haven seen any offerings in NASCAR "YET" When one buys a particular car or team you know that you have 1 of 2678 models produced. However with regards to the thread at hand we who collect 1/18th have NO idea of the production numbers. I'm betting that 21st century never makes more than 3 or 4 thousand of a given aircraft. Who knows? Do YOU!!!!!!
