Re: MiG-15 at Wal Mart

I noticed that half of the toys at my local Wally World are now in the clearance isle including quite a few 1/18 RC tanks and guns (40-50% off). At the same time, there are TWELVE (yes, 12) N. Korean MIG-15 stacked in the toy isle at full price. I'm betting that the market for MiG-15 models is pretty weak in Missouri and that these planes will hit the clearance isle soon. I asked an associate at the store and he says that the computer will tell them when to place something on clearance. Is this a nationwide thing? Do they all go on clearance at once? If so, any way we can alert one another? I am always looking for a way to leverage my purchasing power!

Re: MiG-15 at Wal Mart

Raven, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to the clearance, or what each wal mart recieves stock wise. Someone once said it's up to the individual manager to decide on that. I picked up 1/18 sherman tanks once for .25 cents a piece!! obviously someone screwed that one up, but now is the time to look for deals at your walmarts. I found the TBM today for $30.

You picked up a 1/18 Sherman for 25 cents a piece....I'll say that was a big goof-up on Wally's part...But that was a good deal for you.

Re: MiG-15 at Wal Mart

I actually saw that done with a TBM. Once I saw a lone TBM box a while back when they first came out, but when i looked inside, it was a 109. Some crafty swindler pulled a fast one I bet, buying the TBM and returning 'it' getting their $70 back. And I'm sure it's not hard to do with some of those Walmart workers.....might be able to fill it a box with dog poo and they'd take it!

Most of the "Smoke II" F-104s were "accidentally" packaged in the German F-104 boxes.. All of the "Smoke II's" I have seen are packaged this way..
