Hey, sorry about that. I didn't mean to hijack your thread. The very mention of this game hit a raw nerve.
Score:
OSU: 31
Florida: 17
It was over when:
Smith found Ginn for a 48yrd TD pass with 43 seconds left in the first half.
Summary:
Florida slugs it out for the first twenty-five minutes and then begins to fade. A lack of running game from Florida becomes huge as OSU dominates time of possession. With the OSU O-Line setting the tone early in the second quarter, one on one coverage is created for Ted Ginn jr. bringing about a 48yrd touchdown pass just before heading to the locker room. This is play will end up defining the rest of game as Florida never regains their spirit.
X-Factor:
Ohio State is able to pull out the big plays.
Notable Game Statistics:
0 turnovers in the game
4 TD & 0 INT Troy Smith (OSU)
136yrds rushing Antonio Pittman (OSU)
168yrds total rushing (OSU) more than doubling the average yards allowed by Florida's D this year.
62yrds total rushing (FLA)
Game Ball:
OSU O-line
Honorable Mention:
Florida's Safety Reggie Nelson: Though it wouldn't be enough, he plays a great game trying to fill the gap between Ginn and Pittman shortly after the passing of his mother.
I just have a strong gut feeling about this game. I'll probably be logging on around 9:00PM on the 8th trying to delete this post.
