While the US only recognized the “M#” system as a vehicle’s official designation, a search through the Time archives shows that some unofficial nicknames like Stuart, Hellcat, Slugger and Pershing were at least common enough to make into a period publication. (Or at the very least, even existed at the time…Unlike Jackson or Scott… Where the heck did those come from?)

Anyway, I look forward to picking up some M24 light tanks, with and without side skirts if possible. The pictures I've seen of the actual "Ally Oop III" show them removed.
