Jim Lansdale has very kindly provided some information via j-aircraft.com and I've decided to depict Akira Yamamoto's Model 21 Zero, December 1941.

I've received Marushin's Model 21 diecast, it is fabulous and can't wait to show it to you in photos. It's disassembled and is a great start to work with. I'll post some pics hopefully tomorrow! First impressions:
Hinomaru are about 20% too big (wings and fuselage) and the Zero's overall color, although not a bad shade of grey-green, is decidedly too flat for the high gloss I've seen on
Akagi Zeros.
Next step is to pick out my paint and get started with the restoration. Stay tuned...
