| Re: If you had to choose ... I would prefer to stay with 1/72. On my wall unit I currently have on display a B-24, B-25, Lanc, Halifax, He 111,Me-110, P-38, Mossie, and about 20 odd single engine WWII fighters. There would be no way of having that much on display in 1/48. Mind you I do have a couple 1/48 on display on different cabinets and a Deltof with Corgi 1/32 P-51, Hurricane, Spitfire, 109 and a 1/32 Mossie sitting on top. I like the big stuff too but my collection is 90 percent 1/72 and that would be due to space and also more schemes, molds, and generally better quality. I had a 1/48 FM mossie and sold it off, it was either that or give it to the kids to play with it was that bad. The few 1/48 I own have been purchased in the last year and they are HM and Marushin and that is because they are unique planes and schemes that I don't think will ever come out in 1/72. The other issue is that a lot of the manufacturers that produce 1/48 do not provide stands and I prefer to display wheels up. |
