I remember the Hampden featuring in the War/Battle comics of old. I'm with you on the Flying boats and floatplanes. I fancy the Sunderland and Emily in particular and would love to see them in 1/72. Happy with your choices too, pretty cool. | I could never get in to the slim in trim fighters and bombers. My favorites are pretty much aircraft that were used in the early stages of WWII. Pilots that went up in some of these were pretty sure they did not hold and edge over their competition. The stories about aircraft like the Vickers Vildebeest attacking the Japanese landing forces in Malaya and having to deal with Ki 43 Oscars and A6M Zeros. By comparisson the Wildebeast made the Swordfish look kind of modern. The less well know planes are the ones for me.
Can you imagine these aircraft trying to fend off Oscars and Zeros. |
