| I was thinking of buying one of the Corgi North Vietnamese Mig 21's, thinking it would nicely complement the Hobby Master "Steve Ritchie" F-4D and "Showtime 100" F-4J I have coming. I also thought these Corgi Migs were made by Hobby Master for Corgi's Predator line. However, from the comments here, it sounds like some people were disappointed with their Corgi Mig 21's. Are they made by Hobby Master for Corgi? What is wrong with them? Are they below the Hobby Master standard? |
I just bought the Corgi Vietnam MiG, and it bugged the heck out of me that you can see light through the plastic fin. They didn't bother to paint the thing; it's a poorly done piece of grainy plastic that looks like a poorly done piece of plastic. The HM MiG isn't really so bad--the thing that bugged me about the model was the multiplicity of little landing gear parts. That, of course, would be a plus in some collectors books because it increases detailing. However, I couldn't get the parts assembled, and the effort drove me up the wall. I will say, I've have been thinking of getting the '21 that has the twin red stripes. After all, I don't have to assemble the landing gear to enjoy having the model, right?
