Re: Relationship between CW & HM - food for thought?

Here are a few thoughts since I just bought three CW birds.
The A-7 is great with only two issues that come to mind. 1. The seem that runs right up the middle of the intake and 2. No fan for the engine. Are these deal breakers? No, but they could have been addressed for the money.
Now the Tomcats. I bought one from a store and another off e-bay.
My Black Aces came missing the left rail for the AIM 9. This sucks as I can't get a replacement for it because of the limited numbers produced. If this were a Hobby Masters bird, I could easily get it replaced or at the very least get a replacement part.
My Black Knights bird has a small gap at the wing root on the left side and getting the rear gear doors out after they were put in there was a PITA!! I inflicted some minor damage to the bird and the gear doors trying to extract them. Not something I'm pleased with.
Does CW make a great product? Yes, but there are several issues with some purchases out there that cannot be fixed or replaced. So in my book thats a mark agaisnt them.
Hobby Master produces a great product for a great price. I wouldn't put HM in the same arena as CW. They are more in line with the Gorgi, Dragon, Gemini lines. Given time, I think HM could give CW a run for their money. The big plus is, if you have an issue with it. Chances are you can get it replaced and not be stuck with it.

See ya all in about 15 months!!
