Re: New russian front stuka

I am not a Stuka expert, but based on the Mule's pictures, this plane really looks unique and interesting. Is the plane without the mud guards accurate? I've never seen photos of a Stuka without them so I was wondering. Also, did they really have the long barreled gun in the wings like that? I'm not complaining - I just want to know.

I have several pictures of Ju 87s with their wheel spats removed. This was done if the Ju 87 was operating from forward airfields, the wheel spats were removed to prevent them from getting clogged with mud. Most pictures I have seen of this were with Stukas operating on the Eastern Front. Lengthen guns would be an example of the earlier 7.92 MG 17s being replaced with the Mg 151 20mm cannons.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
