There are some plastic kits, mostly in 1/1200 scale. Other than the Revell kits I believe they are mostly out of production. Eagle for example made kits in the 60s and 70s so those are now 30+ years out of print.
There are also a few German produced plastic models. Trident issued several post war US carrier in plastic, probably because it was easier than metal casting something that big. HDS did a wide range of ships in plastic though the quality on these is not that great.
Finally there are several producers who cast in resin instead of metal. The UK market is especially into resin. Some refer to these as plastic. |
