Re: Hobby Shop Help for a Hong Kong VIsit

Hi everyone
Any body know of some good hobby shops in Hong Kong? I'll be taking a trip for business in the next few weeks and will have a couple of evenings free. I figure since most diecast comes out of Asia they must have some pretty good places and deals. I have about 25 diecast in 1/48 scale. The bulk are Armour/Franklin Mint but I have a couple Marushin, Carousel, and the Hobby Master Buffalo which is really well done. I have a goal to try to obtain an example of each of the aircraft flown, crewed or serviced by the WWII vets I've been able to interview over the years. (my other hobby) Many of these however are not even produced in diecast much less 1/48 scale. Its also getting more expensive all the time. I'd like to get the new PBY but FM seems to be pushing the prices pretty high on that one.

I'd really like to find some of the Italian aircraft especially a SM-79 and a MC-202.. I heard HM might produce a 202 but they are very vague in their responses to my questions.

Here is the site where I've interviewed about 50+ vets if there is any interest. ken_arnold_1919 's Home Page WWII Memories

Hobby Master had the Macchi C.202 on their possible future 1/48th scale models last year, but have heard nothing since then.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
