| Received my first Corgi Fw 190 (US34308), my first IXO - the Do 335 (IXJ00014) - and my Hobby Master SBD-2 Dauntless (HA0111). I'm impressed by how detailed the Fw 190 is considering how tiny it is - I never knew that the Fw 190A was almost as small as the Bf 109! That's part of the reason I collect - just to see all of these planes & tanks together.
The IXO Do 335 was a pain in the arse for all of the usual reasons that have been noted in the IXO forum countless times.
1) the plane was covered in the oil they used for the panel lines;
2) the landing gear was so delicate and wobbly that I chose to display it in flying configuration;
3) I had to wash the tail to get the swazi decals on because of all the aforementioned oil...
4) the pitot broke off right after I got it out of its box... I breathed on it and it fell off!
Ah well. It's a unique bird that displays nicely next to the rest of my big Luftwaffe birds.
