Re: New IXO 1:144 Scale Bomber Images

I'm not familiar enough with the other types of aircraft to comment on IXO's replications of them....I can only imagine they must not be a whole great deal better though.

Frankly, I expect flaws of one sort or another on most of the models in this series. And there's no doubt that some will be pretty bad. However---and I may be wrong on this----I see the new Altaya line as a harbinger of future events in the rapidly evolving diecast field, with the Chinese pushing for mass production approaches over small, high quality product runs. Hopefully, as this initiative plays out, the Chinese will further improve the quality of their models---as they certainly have with the new Altaya bomber series, relative to previous efforts ( the Atlas bomber and fighter series, Altaya's biplane series, the recent IXO line. etc ) . So, all I am saying is this. Something new is happening in diecast manufacturing and marketing. Collectors should monitor these developments and sample some of the newer product, rather than remaining aloof and totally skeptical. These guys are trying, however fitfully, to adapt and explore new business models. Why not ready ourselves to adapt---if necessary- along with the entities that provide us with such products?
