I am just curious if any forum members have any issues of Profile Publications.
These little red & white covers were printed in the UK back in the early to mid 1960s.
. So just wondering if any of the forum members have any of these. |
Cruv', I've seen those booklets, but MANY, MANY years ago.
I don't know if they're
similar to the one's I'm about to post a (very) rough 'snapped' picture of.... ??????????
But, they certainly look similar in format.....albeit about 10 - 15 years newer (?)
The few I have were 'Ex' Royal Air Force museum (stock), at Hendon,
that had been transferred/sold to the
Mosquito Museum at St.Albans in Hertfordshire.
I was visiting the
Mosquito Museum on my Z.1000-J, so I didn't have any luggage-space - therefore I was selective about which 'volumes' I picked up.......
They were only 15p each

!!!!!!!!! I only bought 11 of 'em. Very detailed & I like 'em
NOT SURE IF THEY'RE THE SAME LAYOUT AS YOURS THOUGH ??????????
They're 12/24 page booklets that merely cover
'colour-schemes' -
'markings' - &
Air Ministry 'directives', concerning details & dates of orders issued regarding 'official' changes of the above.........
I was using those to quote from recently, in answer to 'Sky-Buffalo's request, about
"fighters with Yellow-wing-stripes" in the IXO thread.
I'll list the volumes I've got (or take a BETTER pic') if neccessary (?)
The rarer ones, are on P.38's, Aircobra's, Mohawk's, Meteors & Defiants, etc......
They're called
"Camouflage & Markings" by
Ducimus Books, London. (1970's ?)
The earlier printed ones, ALSO happen to have that 'Red/
Cerise' style covers, which is WHY I wondered if they are similar ??????
