All of the manufacturers make some models that are really good. Hobbymaster makes some interesting models with good looking paint jobs, and they're not too expensive. The older Corgi jets are also a good way to start your collection, a lot of these can still be found for reasonable prices. Witty makes some nice F-16s; and, these are also reasonably priced.
