#3 : I got the CRDA Cant Z1007.bis Alcione a couple of weeks ago. It's a good looking plane, just like the Condor. The camo. is quite complicated, and you can only see a little seam in the camo. appplication on top of the fuselage if you look REALLY close. The Alcione had the same little issue as the Condor - There's a seam at the bottom rear of the main fuselage (just forward of the tail section) that tends to seperate - the bottom section of the seam is plastic, as opposed to the rest of the fuselage which is actually metal, as someone pointed out in another thread. Both planes were easily fixed with just a bit of superglue application to put the pieces permanently together.
- ALSO, would anyone know what place / time / squadron this plane is from, exactly? Maybe from the accompanying book with the plane, if you got it? I found a picture in one of my source books that shows a very similiar plane in Greece in early 1941, but that's all I have to go on.

#4 : We really need to start a thread for these planes with the accompanying data for each plane, if possible, since the websites and E-Bay sites give little or no info. and the booklets are in French!?! There has to be somebody out there that can read the booklets or know something.

#5 : Art LeBrun : I've been on the prowl for an Emily for weeeeeeeks, now. I finally got lucky on Tuesday night and got one in a BUY IT NOW Ebay auction for about $27 out of France, with a shipping cost of about $15. The Emilys have generally been going for upwards of $60 with shipping, so I'm stoked to get one for about $43. A few weeks ago, I watched two guys duke it out on an E-Bay auction and jack the price up to $157 for an Emily! YIKES! Definitely not worth it. I just couldn't wait for the pre-order, so $43 is just fine with me if it survives the trip from France. I know Diecast Direct had the Emily on pre-order, and I believe it was the only American shop to have it listed. Or you can do the E-Bay search for "Kawanishi Emily 1/144", selecting the Search Title and Description and selecting Location = Worldwide. Good luck!
So anybody know the location / base / unit / time of the Emily? The only identification for it I've seen is the year 1943.

Regarding the JU-290, from what I can see it looks pretty good in what appears to be a standard scheme for this plane. I may think differently, once I can look at one first hand, however. As for the HE-177, they used a maritime camouflage scheme which has a base of green on the upper surfaces with gray ( RLM 02? ) blotches. The way the pictures depicted the model, it looks like a base of gray, with green crudely streaked and meandered across it. This, of course, is consistent with the mass prouction methods utilized in detailing these models. It's too much trouble to cut out all of the subtle blotches in the mask, so they short cut the process. Here are a few pictures that will show you what I mean:
