Re: Which Of These Sins Is A Deal Breaker When Considering A Diecast Model?

An interesting question that has drawn some good answers. Timely for me, for I am undertaking a a few considerations of various models. Of course, price was once the sole decider, until I came into wealth.... (Just kidding.) I have realized that size matters, when space considerations are primary. I cannot have many 1:32. I never thought I would ever buy a 1:72 until Louie convinced me to buy the Matchbox Mustang and Spitfire. So glad I did.

Next, I realized only certain liveries came in 1:48. That was probably the biggest tie-breaker for me: size vs.... not having the model at all.

I sit and look at my collection, then consider my wish list. Like shoes (which women can never have enough of), there are so many Spitfires and Mustangs and Hawks. I want them all. But, alas, I cannot, because of COST, SPACE, and then the PURPOSE of the collection.

Those are my three, which I try to use. At present, the only Mk XIV Spitfire that I can find is the new Hobby Master 1:48. I have NO Spitfires in this size. I can afford it. I have the space. SO? I ordered it, to get this type for my Spitfire collection of types. I shall find a special place for it, too.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
