Re: Henschel Hs.129

Jim - you COULD keep ALL that ol' "tut"; if ya just sell a coupla your GMP P.40's

Or yer Reliant-Robin !!!!!!!!!!! (prob' more use ?)

what, never sell my p40s no way.

Hornchurch, just so you dont think I am a complete Noddy,

Hold on let me finish, some time ago I had a Ford Probe, (do I hear a few sniggers at that) and I had a lot work done on that baby,
(that Mazda engine was a real cracker, you just couldn't break it).

Lots of tweaks and twiddling with the go faster bits resulted in..............

Nought to sixty in under 6 seconds and it would do 158 mph , I never found out just how fast it would go because I chickened out at 158mph. No I will not tell you where I tested it, walls have ears! But it was at 1am on a Sunday morning.

It cornered like an like an amazing cornering thing and sounded just so sweet.

The down side was that it only did 18mpg even on a run ,nearer 12 around town.
I had to train the guy that bought it so he would not kill himself first time out.
It could be a bit evil if you didnt watch the revs.It scared him so much that he sold it after only a couple of months.

I must give most of the credit to a friend of mine who works for Ferrari in the engine shop and is an absolute wizz with engines.
I spent way too much money on that car but it was worth every penny.

One year at Duxford Legends carpark !!!!!!!!!!!

The big field across the road to be more exact.

I was having fun with a few of the guys and showing them how to do handbrake turns and sideways parking and high speed 360s while aiming for the exit between 2 iron posts , when a stern looking army chap walked over and gave me the hard word.
I should add the the field had emptied of vehicles.

He had the uniform on and the peak over his eyes, I think he was an RSM so best not to argue with those guys.
I offered him a ride but he declined and asked me to desist or he would have me banned for life from Duxford for spoiling his grass!!!!
It didnt help when I said I didnt know the army smoked that stuff.
Very funny sir I suggest you leave NOW!

(this story gets better with each telling).

I never used first gear because it would just leap forward and stall but it pulled away nicely in second then a quick shift into third and away I went.

It was the best car I ever had and I have had some good ones. I once had a Ford Zodiac way back in the late sixties.(remember Z cars)?

I have a hairdressers car at the moment, a Toyota roadster MR 2.
Lots of fun and sticks to the road like glue, a poor mans Porsche I call it.

God Bless America.
