Just an update. Since it seems the consensus is that HM may never release the NASA F-104, I ordered the Witty Wings NASA F-104. In all honesty it looks quite nice and I'm quite pleased with the model. My opinion only as I'm very new diecast aircraft collector, although I have amassed quite a few 1/72 models. Perhaps as my experience increases I may see any shortcomings. But I feel it is a nice model, much more so than the Matchbox NASA F-104, especially since the Witty Wings model has landing gear and I do plan on displaying in an on-the-ramp setting.
