Re: Easy Models look and feel Cheap

I have lots of IXOs and Easy Models and have issues with both. If one must compare them, then I'd take an Easy Model in a heartbeat----even if it is much lighter. In both cases, I use these models to fill gaps in my collection, pending their production by Hobby Master, Gorgi, Dragon, etc.

I must confess, however, that the most recent additions to Easy Model's line-up----the MS-406 in particular--- have serious QC problems. All three of the ones I bought had smudges and/or glue drippings in highly visible locations and one had a dissolving stabilizer plus broken struts and an antenna---which sent it directly to my spare parts bin. Worse, they seem to have made a mistake in measuring the struts connecting the stabilizers to the tail. Their solution was to install the stabilizers at an upward angle, rather than the correct horizontal mode, so they could accommodate the shorter struts. Ridiculous!

I still plan to buy more Easy Models, but my experience with the MS-406 was disturbing. I can see why someone who doesn't feel like making extensive corrections on a $12 plastic model with QC problems, would give up on this line. Let's hope that MRC tightens up its assembly procedures and soon.
