| kb466, be careful what you wish for. I'm trying to stop CW from doing a Phantom next if I can help it. Remember that it is still only a rumor that CW will be making a Phantom at this point. If you wanted a Phantom before the Thud than you should say so here. There is no confirmation that CW is doing a Phantom yet so I think we should assume they are not. This poll can be the place we tell them what we want next from them and although I want a CW Phantom, I can wait for them to make models that aren't made by any company yet. |
I think that the decision to make a CW Phantom already has or has not been made. Remember Zed550 mentioned that the Phantom had been dicussed and that they thought there would be versions other than the HM that could be produced and would complement one another. I think it is also significant that Zed550 also mentioned that Yoshi of CW is a good friend of the people at HM. Also, I understand that the HM and CW products are produced in the same plant in China. I think all of this points to the likelihood that HM and CW have decided to split up the Phantom market-- something that will be beneficial to all of us who love the Phantom.
I also suspect that someone (either HM or CW) is already working on an F-105, if only because there has been a strong clamor for it. We just don't know where these projects are in the lineup. I will be thrilled with either the F-105 or an F-4 from CW, hopefully both. As to the F-111, I am not as convinced this will be coming out anytime soon, though I will be pleased if we do see one.
