I agree, we are oppressively taxed now days, trust me there is plenty of money for the roads, schools & whatever else is truly needed, it's just being wasted by Washington on whatever pork barrel project makes them some extra $$$.
Our forefathers would be turning in their graves if they saw what is happening now, we might as well have stayed under English rule at this point.
Seems most people don't care anyways they just want to vote for whoever will give them the most free stuff!!! |
I really try to stress this "there's no such thing as a free lunch" concept with my students too. It's always funny to me how quickly they
get it and the other basics of economics, and how somewhere between middle-school and Washington it seems to get lost. Free education, free health care, free food....
No concept of incentives and motives here at all.
