It's odd that scale would matter so much. Is it because they look "off" when placed next to smaller scale models?

I began collecting 1/48 and only recently moved to 1/72 because of CW. But I also bought the first GMP P-51 the day it was released and never even hesitated due to the "odd" scale.

I agree in that it doesnt' matter to me, however the more popular scale for aviation collectors before GMP came in was 1:32 (with model builders, too), so I'm just guessing it's a comfort thing... the MSRP didn't help either, but with corgi's MSRP on its one 1:32 they weren't that far off (and you got more with GMP IMO).
