Unguided air-to-air rockets were used by the French, and others, in WW I to down observation ballons.

Yep, forgot about the Nieuports with rockets on the wing struts (Had the old Auroura kit of this one as a kid). Have to rephrase it to first air-to-air WWII rocket victories.
