New York, New York | | | | How Many Non US, German and UK Diecast Planes Do You Have on Display? Because the manufacturers focus primarily on U.S., German and English aircraft when making WW II era warbirds in diecast, these are well represented in most of our collections. But what about Japan, Russia, France and Italy? Recently, I tallied up the number of diecast planes I have on display from each of these countries--not counting "extras" in storage. The results were a little surprising. Japan topped my list with 13 planes accounting for 41 individual models, including duplicates. Next in line came Italy ( 7 planes and 14 models ) and Russia ( 6 planes and 14 models) while bringing up the rear was France ( 5 planes, counting the P-36 Hawk, and 6 models ). I wonder how these countries stack up in the collections of other members? |
