I’m not much for making up wish lists; However, Ara 1’s Vought OS2U “Kingfisher” entry for an important aircraft that should be produced by a first-class manufacturer, e.g., Hobby Master, Gemini, Century Wings, etc got me reaching for my reference books and here’s what I’ve created for Santa Claus to deliver in 2008. Interwar period:Boeing F4B/P-12: Boeing P-26 (Peashooter); Curtiss P-6E Hawk; Curtiss BF2C “Goshawk”; Curtiss SBC Helldiver; Curtiss P-36; Douglas TBD Devastator; Grumman JRF Goose; Grumman J2F Duck; Grumman F3F; Ryab PT-16; Seversky P-35A; Vought SB2U Vindicator; ffice ffice" />>> World War II: Bell P-59 Airacomet; Bell P-63 Kingcobra; Curtiss SB2C Helldver; Douglas A-20 Havoc; Grumman F7F Tigercat; Lockheed A-28 Hudson; Northrop P-61 Black Widow. >> >> There are many Postwar and Modern Jets to add to my wish list, but that’s for another day. |
I like that you put the Vought SB2U Vindicator on your list. I can think of two more that might qualify for you interwar period list and that would be the Republic P-43 Lance and the Martin B-10(Douglas B-18 Bolo would qualify too, but it is way to ugly). Until recently I always thought the Martin B-10 was one of those aircraft that never saw combat, but found out the Dutch put it to use as a bomber during early stages of the war in the Pacific.
