No pictures of the protos yet, but you can see the preview art here and here. I'm really excited to see the M10 going forward! I guess I should wait until the first actual pics come in, but I'd like to mention that the vast majority of M10s in the ETO had grouser stowage racks on the sides of the hull. I REALLY hope they’ll be included on future releases.
…And did “A21” have the later “duckbill” counterweight? *On a pedant note, I hope on the actual releases the US M10s won't be labelled "Wolverine" as it was not a US nickname and I don't believe they were ever called that by GI's. According my sources it was a purely British name for the M10. If anyone has any documents that point to US troops ever adopting the nickname (like they did with the 'Sherman' and 'Priest') I'd be very interested. The modeling industry named the M36 the "Jackson" and it still hasn't been able to shake it. (The M36 was never known as the "Jackson"…Ever. While the name showed up in model kits, period references give the M36 the unofficial nickname of “Slugger”...When nicknamed at all. Since TDs had no history of being named after generals I’m not sure where “Jackson” was pulled from in the first place.) |
