Re: Fairwell GMP

I got Duchess Arlene on e-bay for $76 just today, and shoot, what do you know, I then saw one for $69.95. Dang it...

But close enough, and a fair price. I also have the last two P-40s missing from my collection coming (Aleutian and RAF).

I too will miss the GMP planes (although I agree with Skunky's comments about the P-51s, I still think overall they are great models. I guess my standards aren't quite as high as his beatitude the Skunkmeister ). I must say, though, that I did not warm up to them until pretty late in the ball game, due to scale (would have preferred 1/32) and price. I never paid full price for one, and I still think, as the proud owner of a few of these models, that $150 is fairly high even given the level of quality.

Now my eyes are turned towards HM and their new 1/32 line. I hope it won't be the victim of non-affordability, but that remains to be seen. At least they got the scale right.
