Re: FOV new stuff

They've finally arrived in the Targets in my area. The Target I went to today had the German Stukavoss halftrack with rockets, US M113, US halftrack, Russian T-34/85 and Russian Su-122. The only two newer releases they didn't have was the US Sherman (without mine roller) and the British Grant. They had loads of each, they even had some of last years 1:72 releases including loads of the painted figures in 1:72 scale.

The Forces of Valor tanks at Target are from the "action series" while the Forces of Valor tanks available everywhere else are the "enthusiast series". The only difference is the action series doesn't have much weathering where as the enthusiast series does. The weathering usually consists of a dark wash over the vehicle and a little dust/dirt towards the bottom of the vehicle.

I bought the US halftrack, German halftrack, Russian Su-122 and T-34/85. I already had at least one of each of these already except for the German halftrack, though the ones I had were from the enthusiast series so had more weathering.

The action series US halftrack looks just as good if not better in my opinion than the enthusiast series US halftrack. The action series Russian Su-122 lacked the dirt on the lower half of the hull that the enthusiast series has, but also looked just as good. The action series Russian T-34/85 had absolutely no weathering to it and looked like it just rolled out of the fatory, so the enthusiast series does look better with the added weathering. I don't have the enthusiast series German halftrack with rockets so can't compare it with the action series I got from Target.

The Forces of Valor halftrack has moving tracks and a fair amount of diecast so beats the Dragon Armor version in that respect. The detail is not as good as Dragons offering though, that includes the drivers compartment which is quite poor compared to Dragons version which is very detailed. However at only $8 at Target for the Forces of Valor halftrack (about half of what it costs to buy a Dragon Armor halftrack), you can easily live with less detail.
